Universal Garage Door Services - Salt Lake City Ugliest Garage Door Contest 2025

How to Enter

1. No purchase is necessary to enter or win the Universal Garage Door Services Ugliest Door Contest (the “Contest”).

2. Each person entering this Contest (“Entrant(s)”) must be 21 years of age or older on the date of entry in order to be eligible to win any prize in this Contest.

3. Entrant or their legal spouse must be the record owner of a stand-alone or multi-family home or condo on the day of entry, that is located within the State of Utah and located in a a radius of 50 miles of our office address at 2607 S State St. Ste B Salt Lake City, UT 84115, in order to be eligible to win the Grand Prize in this Contest.

4. To enter, from May 1st, 2025 at 12:00 a.m. through May 30th, 2025 at 11:59 p.m, go to https://www.ugliestgaragedoor.com/pages/slc-ugly-contest and complete the online entry form (the “Submission”), including:

a. Entrant’s contact information (name, street address, city, zip code, date of birth,

email address, phone number, if they own the home, if there is anything broken on the door, how old their garage door is).

b. Upload a photograph of your garage door in the form of a .jpeg or .png.

c. Limit one (1) entry per Entrant.

d. As a condition of entry, you must click the “I agree” box confirming each of the

following:

I. Entrant represents and warrants that they are twenty-one (21) years of age or

older as of date of entry to this Contest.

II. Entrant represents and warrants that they authorize Universal Garage Door Services to post the photograph on or social media sites or use the photograph in any other way Universal Garage Door Services sees fit.

III. Entrant represents and warrants that the Submission is a photograph of the

residential garage door of a stand-alone or multi-family house legally owned by

the entrant or their legal spouse on the date of entry and is located within the

greater Salt Lake City area.

IV. Entrant represents and warrants that the Submission does not use or

incorporate any third party image(s), likeness(es), artwork, photograph(s), or

any other third party copyrighted materials.

VI. Entrant acknowledges and agrees that by submitting a Submission in the Universal Garage Door Services Ugliest Garage Door Contest, Entrant agrees to indemnify Universal Garage Door Services should any representations and warranties made by entrant herein or in the applicable Contest rules prove to be false or inaccurate.

VII. Entrant understands and agrees that Universal Garage Door Services may elect to use any entry

submitted for entertainment purposes and may choose to comment on, mock,

poke fun at, and/or mimic any photo entry submitted. Entrants waive any right to

make any claim against Universal Garage Door Services or any Contest sponsors with respect to any comments - disparaging or otherwise - made regarding such Entrant’s entry.

VII. Entrant agrees and acknowledges that Universal Garage Door Services, all Contest sponsors, and their

respective affiliates, parents, employees, agents and all other related sponsors

may use the Entrant’s name, image, Submission, other entry materials and/or

biographical information for advertising and/or promotional purposes on radio,

TV broadcasts, in the newspaper, on websites and/or any other medium in

connection with participation in this Contest or otherwise, without the payment

of any additional compensation.

lX. Entrant understands and agrees that Universal Garage Door Services shall be the sole and exclusive

owner of the Submission submitted, whether or not the Submission is selected

as a winner, and Entrant agrees to sign any documents requested by Alaska Door to

evidence such transfer of ownership.

X. Entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Contest rules are available to

him/her at https://www.ugliestgaragedoor.com/pages/contest-rules , that they have had an opportunity to review them before entering this Contest, and agrees to be legally bound by the Contest rules.

XI. Entrant acknowledges that Universal Garage Door Services sole discretion, may choose to announce the winner by a surprise visit to the entrant's residence. In this event it would be during the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. in which there would be a camera crew filming this event. Entrant grants Alaska Door to use this footage in whatever promotional way they see fit (including TV or Social Media or a Reality Show. Entrant agrees there will be no additional compensation provided by Alaska Door or Sponsors other than the “Grand Prize” of the new garage door as described in section 13 below.

5. Photograph entries must not contain any indecency, profanity or obscenity as determined by Alaska Door in its sole discretion. Photograph entries must not contain or depict any registered trade/service mark or other copyrighted material other than those owned or licensed by the entrants or Universal Garage Door Services or a Contest Sponsor. BY ENTERING THIS CONTEST AND SUBMITTING PHOTOGRAPH, THE ENTRANT IS REPRESENTING TO STATION THAT THE USE AND DISTRIBUTION OF SUCH PHOTOGRAPH WILL NOT VIOLATE OR INFRINGE UPON THE RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, COPYRIGHTS OF OTHERS. By submitting a picture, Entrants agree to indemnify Universal Garage Door Services should any representations and warranties in these Contest rules prove to be false or inaccurate.

6. WHETHER OR NOT SELECTED AS THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER, ALL ENTRIES BECOME THE SOLE PROPERTY OF ALASKA DOOR AND MAY BE USED BY STATION AND SPONSORS IN ANY MEDIUM IT DEEMS DESIRABLE NOW OR IN THE FUTURE WITHOUT ANY COMPENSATION TO THE ENTRANT(S), OR ANY OF THE PERSONS WHO APPEAR IN OR PROVIDE MATERIALS FOR THE SUBMISSION, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, POSTING THE ARTWORK ON Universal Garage Door Services OR SPONSORS WEBSITES AND/OR SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES.

7. FAILURE TO SUBMIT AND/OR COMPLY WITH THE ITEMS AS REQUESTED/REQUIRED ABOVE MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION. Universal Garage Door Services HAS NO OBLIGATION WHATSOEVER TO NOTIFY ANY ENTRANT(S) IF AN ENTRY HAS BEEN DISQUALIFIED.

How to Win

8. Starting on or about May 1st, 2025 and continuing through approximately May 30th, 2025 at midnight some or all of the photograph entries received by Universal Garage Door Services will be posted online https://www.ugliestgaragedoor.com/pages/slc-vote so that visitors to the site can vote.

9. On or around June 2nd, 2025, Universal Garage Door Services will review all entries. The entry that has obtained the most 5 star reviews from voters will win the Grand Prize in this Contest (as described in Section 13 below), subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the Contest rules (the “Grand Prize Winner”). Grand Prize Winner will be announced on-line the week of June 2nd, 2025. Grand Prize Winner need NOT to see the announcement in order to win and will be contacted via telephone after or in person.

10. In the event that the Grand Prize Winner or their home is found to be ineligible, they shall be disqualified. In the event that an Entrant is disqualified for any reason after they have been selected as the Grand Prize Winner, Universal Garage Door Services will choose the image that had the second highest amount of 5 star votes as a replacement Grand Prize Winner

.

11. SUBMISSIONS NOT SELECTED AS THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER IN THIS CONTEST WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ANY PRIZE IN THIS CONTEST.

12. Odds of becoming the Grand Prize Winner in this Contest depend upon the number of entries received and the number of voters of the submitted photographs.

13. The up to one (1) verified Grand Prize Winner in this Contest will receive, as determined by Universal Garage Door Services in their sole discretion, modern or flat panel (winners choice) garage door: Up to a 16x8 foot size, standard motor, valued at up to $2,500.00 inclusive of all materials and installation by Universal Garage Door Services, available in white, 1-year warranty (the “Grand Prize”). Grand Prize Winner will receive the size Grand Prize that fits current opening of the Entrant’s single or multi-family home or condo owned by Entrant and/or their spouse and no other people on the date of entry and installation and is located within the Universal Garage Door Services service area as determined by Universal Garage Door Services (“Eligible Home”). There must be a garage door currently in place. There may not be an opening boarded up or covered by a tarp. Grand Prize Winner must provide a prepared opening for the garage door to be installed in (If one is not available, Universal Garage Door Services will provide a quote to prepare it for installation which will be the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner in accordance with Section 14 below). Garage must be plumb. Winner must provide a clean and safe working environment for Universal Garage Door Services to install the garage door. Failure to provide any of the foregoing may result in disqualification of the Entrant. The record owner of the property where the Grand Prize will be installed must have a standard homeowner’s insurance policy on the home before any work will commence. Universal Garage Door Services may require proof of such policy.

14. If Grand Prize Winner wishes to extend or make garage door larger or any other change from the specific Grand Prize and limitations described above, Universal Garage Door Services may provide a quote for additional work and, if agreed to by Grand Prize Winner in writing, will be the sole responsibility of the Winner.

15. Grand Prize (in its entirety) will be forfeited if the selected winner or their legal spouse on the date of entry, winning and installation is not the record owner of a stand-alone or multi-family home or condo that is located within 50 miles of our home office in Salt Lake City, Utah. Universal Garage Door Services reserves the right to require that the selected winner provide one or more documents to evidence eligibility and qualification (including, without limitation, deeds). Failure to provide any requested documents by the deadline requested by Universal Garage Door Services will result in automatic disqualification -- in which case, an alternate winner will be selected Universal Garage Door Services, which will be the image that had the second highest amount of 5 star votes.

16. Like all work in a home, there is always the possibility of significant delays (due to delays in obtaining materials, supplies, third party contractors, etc.) before, during or after the construction of work and/or increased costs or time due to unforeseen circumstances or conditions. Grand Prize Winner understands and accepts any such risk of delay or increased costs in excess of the line item caps above. Grand Prize Winner understands and agrees that Alaska Door is not responsible for any delays or increased costs.

17. Winner may be allowed to upgrade or purchase additional services not specifically listed in these official Contest rules and must negotiate said purchased upgrades or additional services directly with the Universal Garage Door Services. It is Winner’s sole responsibility for contracting and remitting payment for these additional services. Station has no liability to Winners or to the Participating Providers for the purchase of these upgrades or additional services.

18. Universal Garage Door Services at is sole discretion can pick more then one 2nd and 3rd place winners for the contest. In other words Universal Garage Door Services can giveaway as many 2nd and 3 prizes as they so choose.

Other Rules Specific to this Contest

19. The entry process may require Entrants to login to, or to create, a free account with the third-party provider of a software platform used by Universal Garage Door Services for such Contest(s) (“Software Provider”), by going to the Website, clicking on the Contest entry link, and completing and submitting the online registration form with all required information.

a. Limit one (1) account with the Software Provider per email address.

b. Software Provider is not a sponsor of this Contest, but Entrants may be required, as part of the entry process, to agree and consent to the Software Provider’s terms of service and/or privacy policy, both of which will be available via a link during the entry or

account registration process (collectively, the “Software Provider Policies”).

c. If the Entrant elects to have their entry form pre-loaded or pre-populated with

information from the Entrant’s Facebook, Twitter, Google, or LinkedIn profiles, such

Entrant authorizes the Software Provider and the Station to access, utilize and/or preload to such entry form, applicable portions of Entrant’s profile information from such account.

d. While agreement to the Software Provider Policies may be required in order to enter

the Contest, the Software Provider Policies are not a part of these Contest Rules but are

a separate agreement between the Entrant and Software Provider. In the event of any

conflict between the Software Provider Policies and the Rules, the Rules will govern.

e. Alaska Door is not responsible for any error or technical malfunctions associated with the

Software Provider site that may affect any Entrant’s ability to enter, to win, or to be

properly considered in the Contest, regardless of the cause. In the event of a

malfunction associated with the Software Provider site that Alaska Door in its sole and

absolute discretion deems to materially and adversely affect the Contest, Alaska Door

reserves the right to (1) suspend the Contest; (2) terminate the Contest without a

Winner; (3) terminate the Contest and select a Winner early; (4) provide alternative

means of entry; and/or make any other changes to the Contest that Alaska deems

appropriate under the circumstances. Any such changes, terminations or suspensions

will be published on the Contest Rules Page, and in Alaska Door’s sole and absolute

discretion, may also be announced on-air, on TV published elsewhere on the Website, and/or published on social media.

f. Employees of Software Provider and its affiliates, their respective parents, affiliates,

subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family

members of each are not eligible to win in this Contest.

g. The "Universal Garage Door Services - Ugliest Garage Door" contest is no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Meta.
